For this project i wanted to focus on what i have been looking forward to most of my high school career. As it comes up i think about it more and more. COLLEGE. I am stoked that i am going to The Ohio State University, and all the cheering and tradition that the college has with everything. A simple thing that tells ohio state students from others is the spelling of ohio with their body. It can be anywhere in the world and it shows the pride they have for their school. It has been said that you can walk on the campus and yell O-H and someone, anyone, will yell back I-O. That shows the support that the students have for the college. I can't wait to go there and join the tradition, the support, and the spirit.
So on this project what i did was the students spelling out ohio in front of a buckeye tree overlooking the city of columbus. I added the red sky fading to darker red for an ohio state appeal. i really like this piece

Growth Artist Statement.

For this project i wanted to convey a sence of me growing up and moving on with my life. Whether it is ending high school and starting college, meeting new people, or just growth in general, and thats where i got the idea.
I wanted to go kind of abstract with this project, more in a direction that isn't like me. In the end, i did more of what i am used to with the realistic style, but i also tried to add some graphics and brushes that isn't like me. I really think i did will with the jellyfish and the rose. The problem is i don't think i found a good enough connection to be able to put them into a piece and say its complete.
Honestly, im not being rough on myself when i say that i think this piece is a bunch of things thrown together. I really cound't think of things to do although i had a good idea of a topic. I really thought a rose could give the hint of a life happening...i tought that a jellyfish and bright colors would bring a sence of life in the future...the things i had set up in my mind had a good tohught of what the project would be but then when i actually went to put it down, it looked like i had a fase, a rose, and a jelly fish with a bunch of little stupid things on the side...and it made to turn it out like crap..
with the background, i really don't know what i was doing, i knew the jellyfish ahd to be underwater so i tried to do that, but then i went with the whole starburst thing in the upper right.
My favorite part about this piece ies probally the rose, i spent a lot of time on it and i think it turned out good, the little design with GROWTH on it looked cool too.

This Europe project is a present for my cousin Brian. I admire him a lot for the things he does and the oppurtunitys that he gets to do. A little background is that Brian went to spain to study abroad for a semester. His is crazy good at spanish and so it was a great oppurtunity for him to get more familiar with the coutries and the language.
As he was staying in spain, he had a lot of free time making trips to other coutries. He was able to go to Germany for ockober fest, england, and he also brought up his girlfriend for a couple days in Paris. As he made these trips he was able to take a lot of pictures of many things that he got to see, to make the memories that he had visable for others to see and admire. I feel that his pictures were very nice. I was thinking that now that he is back home, maybe i could put something together for a little memory of his trip. This is what brought up my decision for the project that i have done a litlte montage. (sorry for spelling mistakes)
Some things that i feel that i did pretty well with was the color combination, adding the light the bight and the dark together to make a big piece. Another thing that i thought that i did well with was messing with the color balance and the hue and saturation and being able to make some pictures look older than others.
Some things that i think i need to improve on and something that i didn't think i was able to accomplish well was the picture frames. I felt that on the older picture frames i needed to make them look like they are worn out or something rather than a perfect white frame.
I feel this project really fits in the body of my artwork and i like what i did.
